What AI models does VM Studio support?
VM Studio supports 7 AI models: Nano Banana 2, Nano Banana Pro, Z-Image Turbo, Seedream v4.5, FLUX.2 Turbo, FLUX.2 Klein 9B, and GPT-Image 1.5. Each model has unique strengths for different creative needs.
Do I need to pay for VM Studio?
The plugin is free to install. VM Studio uses a BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) model. You use your own API keys from providers like fal.ai, OpenAI, Google AI Studio, or OpenRouter and pay directly to them based on usage.
Are my API keys safe?
Yes. Your API keys are stored locally on your device using Figma's client storage. They are never sent to our servers, only directly to the AI provider (e.g., OpenAI, fal.ai) to generate your images.
How does the smart grid work?
When you generate multiple images, VM Studio automatically finds empty space on your canvas to place them, avoiding overlaps with existing designs. It wraps after 12 columns and auto-centers your view.
Are there keyboard shortcuts?
Yes! Press Cmd + Enter (or Ctrl + Enter) to generate instantly. Use ↑ and ↓ arrows in the prompt box to cycle through your prompt history.
